BGSA’s Funded Grants
Every year, BGSA raises funds to provide various research grants to Biology department undergraduate and graduate students. Funding comes from T-shirt sales, other BGSA activities, and donations from supporters.
The John Paul Olowo Research Grant
The Olowo Research Grant is a $300 award given to a Biology department graduate student yearly. It was established in 2004 by the Paul Olowo memorial fund. Applications for this award are due at the end of fall semester during every school year. More information on applying to this grant, the due date for the application, and more department funding opportunities can be found on the department website.
URAP Grant-in-Aid of Research
Two grants of up to $250 are awarded to undergraduates in the Biology Department yearly. Applications for this award are due in late fall of every school year. More information on how to apply for this grant, due dates, and URAP are available here. Graduate students, please encourage the undergraduates you work with to apply!
